Walk to help animals at the 8th annual Woof-A-Palooza dog walk Sept. 19.

Chatham Animal Rescue and Education, Inc. (C.A.R.E.) is hosting the annual event to benefit the animals in foster care awaiting their forever homes.

Anyone that wants to walk to help the animals can join in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at Central Carolina Community College, 764 West Street, Pittsboro.

Woof-A- Palooza is a one-mile dog walk fundraiser. In addition to the walk, there will be prizes, refreshments, vendors, contests and activities for you and your pet. Come out to Woof this year - we will have a Dog Wash (small dogs $10 large dogs $20), nail trims $5 and animal massage! Enjoy live music provided by Matt Daniels as well as animal demonstrations from the Chatham County Sheriff's office and Canine Coaching.

 Chatham Animal Rescue and Education, Inc. is a volunteer, not-for-profit humane society. All the animals in the C.A.R.E. system are fostered in volunteer foster homes. C.A.R.E. pays for food and routine medical expenses such as spay or neuter, rabies vaccinations, deworming and vaccinations. Chatham Animal Rescue and Education, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Adoption fees cover the very basic medical expenses of animals, but they do not cover additional treatments that some animals require. Proceeds from Woof A Palooza will be used to help pay the veterinary expense of animals in the C.A.R.E. system and will help with humane education and outreach efforts in Chatham County.
