Residents who want to speak out on whether or not Chatham County should have a countywide referendum on liquor by the drink should attend a hearing slated for Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. in the Superior Courtroom in Pittsboro.
The hearing is part of the regular meeting of the Chatham Board of County Commissioners.
"The county commissioners want to hear people's thoughts on this issue before they make a decision one way or the other," said County Manager Charlie Horne. "No decisions have been made as to whether this should go on any county ballot, so take this opportunity to be heard."
At this time, the only places in Chatham County that have liquor-by-the-drink is Fearrington Village and a few specific facilities in the county.
