CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. -
Students in Chatham County will start school two hours later than normal, due to the cold weather.
Chatham County School officials said due to the extremely low early morning temperatures forecasted for Friday, they will operate on a two-hour delay for students.
Faculty and staff are expected to report to work at regular times.
"The decision was made primarily because of many early bus routes that the district has and a concern about students being outdoors in the pre-dawn cold," stated school officials.
A press release from school officials stated that families of high school students will be notified of modifications to the final exam makeup schedule on Friday.
