A Harnett County girl has been missing since Tuesday and rescuers have been searching ever since with the help of rescue boats, underwater cameras, divers and a canine unit.
They say six-ear-old Cazhia McMillian was playing with a friend when she fell into the river.
The family of the girl was also on the scene and they say they are devastated.
Cazhia's Aunt Denise Goins said the six-year-old was no stranger to the water.
"She loved to go fishing with her grandpa; she loved it," Goins said.
She said Cazhia also loved her family and her relatives couldn't say enough about their sweet little girl.
"She's everybody's heart, she's everybody's heart ... so sweet," Goins said.
But her grandma Gardene Cherry said she couldn't swim. So the family panicked when they heard from Cazhia's friend that she had fallen into the Little River near her home.
"It's been rough. I pray for her," Cherry said.
Goins agrees.
"It's just terrible. She was such a smart girl," Goins said
Relatives said the whole ordeal has been devastating but no matter what happens they said Cazhia will be remembered as an energetic and fun-loving little girl with a lot of love to give.
"She was a very spirited girl who loved to talk. Oh, she loved to talk," Goins said.
Rescue officials said that they are cutting back the search just for the night because of the dangerous current and bad weather coming to the area.
