Chatham County Sheriff Deputies arrested a Sanford man for drug possession.
Authorities found Lee Aaron Matthews, 28, slumped over in his car. Authorities also found several small bags of drugs in Matthews possession that contained drugs including 22 doeses of Hydrocodone and 39 doses of Tylenol with Codeine.
After further investigation, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office determined the drugs were obtained by Matthews girlfriend, 29-year-old Laura Griffin. Griffin was employed as a pharmacy technician at the Moncure-Haywood Health Center.
Griffin was arrested and charged with two counts of felonious trafficking opium, felonious embezzlement by employee and possession of scheduled III drugs.
