CARY, N.C. -

North Carolina officials have yet to give a Cary food processing plant the green light to continue with it's peanut butter processing in the wake of a nation-wide salmonella outbreak.

The Austin Foods plant is still operating other types of food products, however.

Joe Reardon, Director of North Carolina's Food & Drug Protection Division says he should have a better idea about when they'll be able to start up again with peanut butter processing early next month.

Reardon said the delay isn't necessarily an issue with the plant itself; they're working on cleaning up the entire supply line to ensure everything is safe before it arrives in Cary.
