Since 1996, the Johnston County Arts Council has partnered with Johnston Memorial Hospital (now Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield) to administer an art exhibit of Johnston County School students. The show changes every other month as a different public school submits the work of its students. The exhibit is located in the hallway connecting the main lobby to the Women's Pavilion.

Four Oaks Elementary School has submitted artwork for the latest exhibit, which will hang from June 1 through July 25, 2009. The visual arts teachers are Laura Myers, Leslie Smith, and the students participating in this exhibit are:

Yanet Aguilar, Logan Andrews, David Baker, Johnna Dodd, Brendan Edwards, Kayla Girouard, Gracie Hatch, Jared Lee, Marcos Penada, Sergio Raimirez, Adrianna Roberts, Arturo Sanchez, Kelly Springer, Chase Stanley, Savannah Stanley, Patrick Stephenson, Nicholas Teeter, Myra Upchurch, Judith Valdez and John Williams.
