A job fair held by Moster.com in the Triangle brought out more than 700 people searching for jobs.

There were 18 employers at the fair with more than 300 job openings.

Linda Teeder Jones was in human resource administration for more than 30 years. She recently retired from her job to go back to school.

"I'm so excited about my new career. I never though at age 61 that I would go back to get my masters degree, then use that degree along with my other credentials I already have," Jones said.

Jones said the job fair opened opportunities for her.

Monster official Bill Troiano said that giving people the tools they need at the fair and online is the company's main goal.

"My advice is fairly simple. Be persistent and work on standing out," Troiano said.

But Kevin Lee who lost his job because of the economy said it's not that easy.

"I'm trying to get someone's attention pretty much but everybody is in the same boat," Lee said.

Many people said they had the same problem of not standing out amongst the crowd but Troiano said it's the little things that count including putting your resume on professional paper and sending thank you cards to people you interview with. Monster has even included cards inside their information packet.

Job seeker Shareasa Dunn said the career fair not only put her on the right path to employment but encouraged her to think outside the box.

"Some times it's best to step out of your comfort zone and become familiar with different situations. It's a great experience," Dunn said.

Through the day, Monster also held presentations with experts, sharing advice about every aspect of the job hunt.

Another group who partners with Monster.com called "Dress For Success" was at the fair. They helped over 20 women get their hair, clothes and resumes ready for employers.
